My head is getting smaller.

My first lesson of taking a photo is to always stick your chin out. I used to feel that was enough, but lately, I have been having issue with my head looking bigger than everyone else's. Recently I figured out that by keeping my head behind the person's I am taknig it with, my head will actually look smaller. The problem is, there is definitely a technique that I am still needing to work through. For example, if you scroll down to my picture with Tommy Chong, I am too far behind and look like I am photoshopped in after the fact. So in an attempt to make it look like I am definitely with the person, I have made sure my head is closer to theirs so it looks like we are next to each other. This pic made me laugh so hard because I look so ridiculous. Don't you think I should have noticed my head was being cut off when I couldn't see through Constantine's hair??? RIDICULOUS!

Another fun weekend at the beach...

Big huge fat thank yous to Ross and Elise for letting us come and play in their haven!

That's my girl!

Int- Gay Night Club

Three friends (Jessie, Bob and Freddy) are soaking with sweat as the music swells to reveal Kelly Clarkson's high thumpin' dance version of "Because of You".

Jessie
That's my girl!

Jessie, Freddy and Bob smile and dance around wildly as the chorus erupts into never straying from the sidewalks.

Int- Gay Night Club - one hour later

'80s diva Tiffany is on stage singing "I Saw Him Standing There" and doing her trademark right angle with her hand around her face dance move.

Bob
And that's my girl!

To Be Continued...

Keeping the Sizzle sizzling...

Okay, so Sizzle has thrown down the gauntlet, so I am facing the challenge and going public with my Top 10 American Idol predictions.

I was really excited to see the guys go at it last night (watch it), but I have to say I was a little disappointed. They didn't bring it as well as I wanted it broughten, with the exception of Taylor. He has my vote to make it in the top 3 without question. I like his attitude, musicianship and I am even letting go of the fear that he might tip over at any minute from leaning too far to the side.

Other notes:
  • Brenna has got to go. It is obvious she was just let through for TV purposes because in addition to being highly annoying, she can't hold a note.
  • Ace can mow my lawn in his underwear whenever he wants (even though I don't have a front lawn. I'll grow one).
  • Kellie Pickler makes me cry everytime she is on the screen. I don't need her to win, but I need her to go far. I know her drive to make something of herself while her broken family looks on. There is something to be felt making something of yourself out of adversity.
  • Chris got my vote not just because he sang a Bon Jovi song, but because he knocked it out of the ball park!
  • Paris has some serious pazazz. I am looking forward to watching that little girl spread her wings.
  • And as much as I loved Mandisa's performance of Heart, I was very concerned by the fact that no one mentioned she looked like she showed up for the performance disheveled and in her sexy undergarments (read: second job). A new wardrobe and she will definitely go far!
And here are my hopes and predictions for the final 10:

1. Taylor Hicks
2. Kellie Pickler
3. Paris Bennett
4. Ace Young
5. Chris Daughtry
6. Lisa Tucker
7. Jose "Sway" Penala
8. Will Makar
9. Mandisa
10. Ayla Brown

Your next American Idol...

Shaunessy found this for me this morning on the American Idol website. I wasn't going to post it (as most know, I am not a fan of my profile), until I realized what I am doing in the pic. I was coming down the red carpet and ran up and grabbed Constantine's ass while he was mid-TV interview (it was a party for the final 24 contestants). I'm guessing the folks at A.I. didn't want the whole image in there, but I love that they at least grabbed the spirit of the moment!

my inbox is full and they all seem to resonate

Dear Bob,
Here is your single's love horoscope
for Tuesday, February 21:

There's only one person you should be concentrating on -- and that's you. Do something for yourself that feels just a little bit indulgent. You deserve the best, and only you know exactly what you want. Go get it!

I'm going back to bed.

Dear Bob,
Here is your horoscope
for Monday, February 20:

You're the hub of lots and lots of social activity, but what you really need more than anything is some peace and quiet. It's hard to give up being the center of attention, but it's necessary if you want to get anything done.

Still Smokin'

It is safe to say, I did not have a normal childhood. While other children were being groomed on Disney movies and muppets, I was being raised by Cheech and Chong. Call it progressive. Which is why tonight, as Em and I were walking around the finale party of That '70s Show and saw Tommy Chong sitting down, we had to ask him for a photo. There are just certain people you can't pass up.

My trick is really working for standing behind and making my head look smaller, but I think I need to start putting my hand on the person's shoulder so it at least looks like I am with them and not put in the pic after the fact!

from my friend Glenn...

"I sympathize with Harry Whittington, the man that Cheney shot. I too have been shot in the face by a Dick and it hurts!"

Cancerian Horoscope

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
"Love at first sight may be a matter of instinctively recognizing someone who will allow you to continue in comfortingly familiar--and often destructive--patterns learned in childhood." So said Salon.com's Lisa Zeidner in her review of Maggie Scarf's book Intimate Partners. Make that idea your watchword in the coming weeks. Let it be the beacon that guides you away from the sentimental illusions about romance that you may still be drawn to. After all, there are few things that undermine authentic love more than infantile wishes and naive fantasies. Happy Valentine Daze, Cancerian!

Madonna's video for Sorry!!

My confession of the day...

My friend Paula (far left) finally got to meet some of her all time heartthrobs and faves, INXS, at a recent radio event in Seattle. Here she is with Garry and JD. I know it seems sacreligious, but I kind of like that new JD character.

I will never forget when Paula and I saw INXS in Seattle... I think 1994? hmmm... Paula? I seem to recall I hadn't come out yet, which would've made it '93... either way, I will never forget being pressed up against the front of the stage and all of the hands that went flying in the air when Michael Hutchence came near... I took the opportunity to run my hand up his thigh... yep.
I did it.
I said it.
I can still feel his leather pants.
He was a rock God.
It will always be one of my more proud accomplishments!

Cancer Horoscope for week of February 2, 2006

Verticle Oracle card Cancer (June 21-July 22)

After torrential rains caused flooding in the small town where I live, the Thai restaurant was one of the few downtown businesses that was spared catastrophic damage. The maitre d' explained to me why as I ordered my to-go dinner tonight. "We've always hated our tile floor. It makes the place feel sterile, and it's slippery. People lose their footing if there's even a little wet spot. But when the three feet of floodwater poured in, our tile floor held up. All the stores around us had wooden floors that were destroyed." This is your metaphor of the week, Cancerian. Something in your life that you have regarded as a problem will become a saving grace.
