I am getting a lot of irritated emails asking me where it is. I didn't want to send it out, because I am not particularly fond of this one... AND my head is killing me from this "cleanse" I am on...
but here is the link to the latest Love Handles...
http://66.161.86.126/detail.asp?id=13730
and if you want to leave a comment... here you go...

Also, I wanted to send out a great big thank you to EVERYONE... Yesterday was my nine year anniversary of living in Los Angeles and I can't let this little milestone go by quietly. There's no way I could have predicted the ride it's been since that calm little summer day Shaunessy and I drove down in my now deceased VW Fox. I couldn't have done it without any of you- the people in my past who gave me the strength and courage to make the move and all of the faces who make it worth getting up each morning, I thank you from the bottom of my dieting heart!
Now go read about the day my jeans split at the office because I have an addiction to food...

Happy Anniversary Darling.
I couldn't let this day pass and not aknowledge it.
Today marks my nine year anniversary of living in Los Angeles.
Nine years.
I thought I would have so much to write, but I am in the middle of doing this stupid cleanse and my head hurts.
I will have to reflect and wax poetic later in the week.

A random message I received from Myspace
this is the message he sent:
god created adam and eve.. not adam and eve. GAY FAGGIT
here is his profile:
Click Here to view his profile
Believe it or not, I actually didn't get upset. I can't help but feel anything but sad for him. He is too young to have these thoughts on his own and has so obviously been taught to think this way. He has been taught to hate. I just WISH they could at least teach him to hate with an education so that I could at least understand that God should have some respect and be capatalized, as should Adam and Eve. I also wish he wouldn't mix his metaphors because it makes no sense. I am sure he meant to mention something about Adam's boyfriend Steve, but in his uneducated hatred, he lost me. And yes I am gay. I suppose since it is respectful, I am Gay. But I am no faggit. I am a Faggot. Which according to the dictionary is supposed to be used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man.
I don't feel so disparaged, I just wish he knew what disparage meant. Oh, how educated youth would delight me so...

One hand in my pocket...
And the other one turning up the radio...
On July 11th, Jenny emailed me a quiz that I had to fill out and post. In it , I had to list 5 people that I would like to meet. Well, I can officially cross one more name off that list as I had the unbelievable fortune of meeting the one and only Alanis Morissette yesterday.
I am trying to get a clip of the radio broadcast (I asked her a question) and as soon as I do, I will post it. She was radiant and everything I wanted her to be.
It is fun to still feel like a fan from time to time...

Modern Day Marriage
This is me with my wife Ashley. We are part of a three way marriage with Pete. Any day now we are going to choose one state to live in (most likely California since they are more open-minded to such forward thinking, instead of Idaho). In the meantime, I just have these photos to keep them in my heart until we are able to be together again soon...
This is our husband, Pete. Aren't we lucky?

Precious Illusions... more on this later...
You’ll rescue me right? in the exact same way they never did..
I’ll be happy right? when your healing powers kick in
You’ll complete me right? then my life can finally begin
I’ll be worthy right? only when you realize the gem I am?
But this won’t work now the way it once did
And I won’t keep it up even though I would love to
Once I know who I’m not then I’ll know who I am
But I know I won’t keep on playing the victim
These precious illusions in my head did not let me down when I was defenseless
And parting with them is like parting with invisible best friends
This ring will me yet as will you knight in shining armor
This pill will help me yet as will these boys gone through like water
But this won’t work as well as the way it once did
Cuz I want to decide between survival and bliss
And though I know who I’m not I still don’t know who I am
But I know I won’t keep on playing the victim
These precious illusions in my head did not let me down when I was a kid
And parting with them is like parting with a childhood best friend
I’ve spent so long firmly looking outside me
I’ve spent so much time living in survival mode
I’ll be happy right? when your healing powers kick in
You’ll complete me right? then my life can finally begin
I’ll be worthy right? only when you realize the gem I am?
But this won’t work now the way it once did

Being a good sport...
I got tagged with this lifetime meme:
10 years ago: I was 21. It was the year I really came into my skin and began to own who I was. I was surrounded by amazing friends and had my first real job (Navigation Technologies). I was living with Lisa Starkie in San Jose. I miss her. I wish she would find me. 10 years ago was also the year I got Sophie.
5 years ago: The world was a different place. Pre-9/11, pop music made an extraoridnary comeback and I not only got to enjoy it, got to be a part of it. I was off at a No Strings Attached show somewhere around this time. I was working on Movies with Tom Hanks and Jodie Foster. I was living in West Hollywood. I was looking at pursuing a career as a journalist and giving up film production.
1 year ago: I was at the beginning of what became a very destructive slide into depression post 30th birthday. I was emotionally and physically exhausted and completely checked out.
Yesterday: I was tired yesterday as well. But in a completely different space. I got to hang out with my cat in my new home and just do chores and relax. So close to my home being completed, it makes me happy to just sit in it. I also had lunch with my sister and her new boyfriend. All I can say is hot and I will leave it up to you if I am referring to him or my lack of air conditioning in new home.
Today: Still tired. It is a boring theme in my life. At work. Trying to muster the strength to catch up on filing.
Tomorrow: Having dinner with a manager that wants to represent me. Biting nails nervously.
5 snacks I enjoy: Wheat Thins and Cream Cheese; Asiago and Wheat Thins with Red Wine; Fresh Fruit; Anything I can dip in Ranch Dressing; Nachos
5 bands/singers that I know the lyrics of MOST of their songs: Debbie Gibson, Madonna, Belinda Carlisle, Bon Jovi, Chris Isaak
5 things I would do with $100,000,000: Travel, own a a nice home, own a vacation home, pursue my writing career, liposuction
5 locations I’d like to run away to: Tuscany, London, Santa Fe, Santa Barbara, Australia
5 bad habits I have: I get bored easily which kills my motivation and I ultimately end up lazy and wasting time being unproductive; digging at my cuticles; eating poorly; beating myself up; forgetting
5 things I like doing: dancing, laughing with friends, reading a book with my cat in my lap and wine by my side, eating, cooking for friends
5 things I would never wear: a prince albert, I think that everything else is possible knowing my love of a good costume :-)
5 TV shows I like: One Tree Hill, The OC, Reba, Entourage, Six Feet Under
5 movies I like: About a Boy, Grease, Outrageous Fortune, Sordid Lives, Steel Magnolias
5 famous people I’d like to meet: Armistead Maupin, Dolly Parton, Alanis Morissette, Ed Robertson (BNL), Natalie Maines
5 biggest joys at the moment: my new home, my friendships, my music, my shrinking waist line, my column
5 favorite toys: my mp3 player, my cell phone, men, Rubikscube and my etch-a-sketch
5 people to tag: Paula, Erica, Apul, Clara, Adam

A Racy Roman Holiday...

I know, I know... I am still trying to get the pics up from my Italian adventure... but in the meantime, my new Love Handles is up and it exposes my one gay adventure in Roma! It's just a little something to wet the appetite... http://66.161.86.126/detail.asp?id=12477

Happy Birthday to me!
Deborah Gibson and me on my birthday. I sang the chorus of Electric Youth with her (she was performing an '80s night, hence the red mowhawk). It was one of my greatest birthday moments!

Ciao! Italia!
Ciao!
I just wanted to take a quick moment and say thanks to everyone for all of the birthday wishes yesterday! (no worries if you forgot, you can pretend I was still out of the country)... I had a great day and was in awe, as always, at how lucky I am to have the friends that I do. You guys and gals are the best and I consider it an honor to have y'all along my journey...
I promise to have my Italia stories and photos up on my website by the weekend (I am still jet lagged and over loaded)... but in the meantime, a new Love Handles came out while I was away :-) http://66.161.86.126/detail.asp?id=12227 and no one has left any comments, so either I am getting worse or I have bored everyone to death... but if you feel like leaving one... go here: http://66.161.86.126/comments.asp?id=12227&page=home (no pressure)
:-)
I miss Italy already, but I am thrilled to be home and eager to get
my internal clock back on schedule. Joy, I can not thank you enough for the best birthday present ever (which is really saying something because there have been some great ones in the past!!). You are bellisimo through and through!

So much going on...
There is a new installment of my column LOVE HANDLES now up on out.com:
http://66.161.86.126/detail.asp?id=11544
Feel free to leave your thoughts on the column or my journey at the following (it asks for your email for confirmation only, it doesn't add you to any lists):
http://66.161.86.126/comments.asp?id=11544
My interview with Monster-In_Law's Adam Scott is now up:
http://66.161.86.126/detail.asp?id=10355
The exciting news: I found a new home! I am moving to Glendale/Burbank (I know, I know) the weekend of June 11th... I have to say a very special thank you to my friend Mariko who found the property through her friend... it is exactly what I was looking for, including my very own washer and dryer... Also a great big thank you to all of you who were keeping your eyes out!! Wanna help move? Put June 11th in your calendar... there will be pizza and beer for anyone involved!! I will send out my new address as it gets closer...
Two important plugs:
My friend Christina is in a fantastic new movie called FIGHTING TOMMY RILEY. I was at the premiere on Friday night and I can't promote it enough. The story of it's journey to the screen is as inspiring as the film. It is currently playing at THE REGENT SHOWCASE THEATER at 614 N. La Brea Ave in Los Angeles. Please call the theater at (323) 934-2944, or check LA Weekly or the LA Times for show times. It will also be coming to San Francisco and New York soon, so keep your eyes open for it.
and finally, Katie Thompson is at it again. I just received this email from her this morning...
