Super Duper

My birthday week is off to an amazing start! Tuesday night I attended a screening of Madonna's new movie "I'm Going to Tell You a Secret" with a few of my friends. Then last night was the Superman premiere in Los Angeles and I was lucky enough to go with my friend Joey (easily one of the biggest Superman fans out there). The movie is so fantastic! I have been nervous about the final product, because I have to be honest... Brandon (the new Superman) has looked a little soft and feminine and cartoony for me. Now that I have seen it on the big screen and in action, he is flawless! He is gorgeous, masculine AND a good actor (and in person very sweet and gracious... Here's hoping that lasts). Oh... and the movie itself is terrific too!


The after party was held outside on a field and littered with props from the movie including the Daily Planet tower top...


And crystal formations from Superman's home complete with green lasers slicing through the sky...


One of my personal highlights was meeting the hilarious Rachel Dratch from SNL... We even talked about my favorite Debbie Downer skit with Lindsey Lohan...


Parker Posey is a nut. A brilliant nut. But a nut. And she steals every scene she is in...


Ahhh.. Great Brittain... They hired (on purpose) the most gorgeous wait staff you have ever seen assembled. Every bartender, food server, and busser were insanely handsome. My thanks to Courtney at Warner Brothers for her impeccable taste. I was even happy when one of them came up to me and wanted a hug...

One of my favorite moments, dragging Joey over to get my photo with Brandon (wasn't leaving without it) while he acted embarrassed, until the second he took my pic and decided he needed one of his own!

My new friend Chad... We met a few weeks ago in Palm Springs and we are a lot of fun together :-)


And two VERY incredible thank yous have to go out ... 1) to my friend Allegra for passing on my request to the proper person...


And 2) to my new friend Elizabeth for BEING the proper person and getting us in! It was such a spectacular night that I am so thankful to have been a part of!

Today's affirmation...

I have a book that I read from every day that gives me a different thought or affirmation. Something to chew on as I go about my day... and this was today's passage. I just found it incredibly interesting and wanted to share...

The Presence of God

I looked a hundred times and all I saw was dust.
The sun broke through and flecks of gold filled the air.

Consider how the sun continually lights our daily world, yet we can not see light except in what it touches. Though the sun burns constantly and holds everything living within its pull, though it sends its power across millions of miles, it is unseen for all that way, until it hits a simple blade of grass or makes the web of a spider a golden patch of lace.

In the same way, the presence of God powerfully moves between us unseen, only visible in the brief moments we are lighted, in those enlivened moments we know as love.

For just as we can look at that spider web and never see its beauty until it reveals itself in sudden light, we can look upon the nearest face, again and again, never seeing the beauty in each other, until one or both of us is suddenly revealed. Spirits show themselves in just this way, or rather, our gentleness of heart allows us to see and be seen.

It makes our search for love a humble one. For what is there to do but grow in the open and wait.

My horoscope for the week...

My Little Sister's Graduation...

I am proud to say, my little sister has graduated college! To celebrate, she had a party in the Bay Area that was themed, "around the world". So everyone had to come in an outfit that represented somewhere from around the world. As usual, some people went all out and others, well they decided to stay more local and say, "this is how I dress at home (as in San Jose, California).

After not having been that close with her during her childhood, it has been such a treat for me to have gotten as close to her as I have these last few years. To have become a confidante and a friend to her has meant the world to me. And it is with great anticipation that I sit in the front row and watch as the next phase of her life unfolds.

Mike was fittingly a leprechaun, my sister Tonya took a page from the Brazilian born Carmen Miranda, Ryan visited Hawaii with Emily and Karen, while Mike's mom and sister found their rastafarian roots.

Then of course, we were all ready to go on a gondola ride with Jake...

Oh yeah, and then me. I might have stolen a page out of Madonna's last tour. A little Italians do it better T-shirt and a kilt. Who knows where I was from? But at least I was in theme!

Amy's boyfriend Jay swam the oceans from Cuba...

My stepmom and her sister Faith were dressed like geisha girls...

but partied like harajuku women...

Yep, Italians DO do it better... we also finally did the math to determine that I am in fact half Italian. Who knew?

My face looks weird here. I don't think I like it, but it is the best shot of the kilt Eric made me...

Sending Our Collective Light To The World

Like tiny ripples that merge to form great waves, combined human intent is worth more than the sum of its parts. A single individual can initiate worldwide improvement by emitting conscious frequencies of love, beauty, goodness, and wisdom. A group of people focusing their energy on sending out light to the world can set the stage for positive global transformation. All of us possess the ability to channel love energy, to heal, to be a conduit for white light, and to positively influence our fellow humans from afar. Yet one person can only do so much. Imagine if each one of us took a few moments at the start of each day to send out light to the world from our hearts. The world would be an infinitely beautiful place.

You can help bring about an earth where love triumphs over violence, air and water are nourishing in their purity, and people take pleasure in simply being alive. Alone, the light you emit is a wonderful healing tool, but when you join with others who share your intent to shine compassion and positive energy over the world, a powerful force is created. Your collective consciousness and collective light will wash over the planet, enveloping people, communities, cities, countries, and continents. Inviting others to send light with you can be a daunting task. People may question the benefits of sending light to an already broken world. You will likely need to explain that each person's light joins with every other, and through the joining all are strengthened. Assure them that what matters is not technique or what religion or beliefs you hold but intent.

I need to see who's paying attention...

The company that hosts my website had moved it over the weekend unbeknownst to me and because of it, the entire thing was gone. On top of that, there is a laundrymat that keeps stealing my photos and posting them for his own evil glory. Which has gotten me to thinking... Is this all worth it? Is anyone out there reading this thing or even paying attention? I started this dinosaur of mine six years ago... and I dare say, I am thinking of retiring it. Unless of course it turns out there are actually people out there reading along and paying attention. There are only 3-4 people who ever leave comments on here, which is beginning to make me think no one is reading. I can send those people emails and save myself a lot of trouble.

So here it goes, over the next couple of days, I will be monitoring my comments and see if anyone has even read this much. If by the end of the week, it looks like no one has, then I am thinking this may very well be the end of Planetbaub...

So if you are reading, comment away! (you don't have to be a member to leave comments). Or if you want it to go away, or if I am in fact writing this and no one is reading... then the sound of the crickets will be enough to say adios...
